Al Anam

HR Background

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

˹Say:˺ “So should I take a judge other than Allah, [1] even though it is He Who has revealed to you the comprehensive Book?” And those to whom We gave the Book know that it has been sent from your Lord with the truth[2] so you must never be among those who doubt.

Commentary

[1]

It is not permitted to appoint someone to distort matters of the Islamic faith or law, and the same applies to those democratic systems that oppose the core rubric of Islam: obedience of Allah Almighty and His Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is mandatory in any case, regardless of people’s choices.

[2]

This address is for every reader or listener of this verse, or it apparently addresses the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم but actually applies to the Muslims.
