English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

Say, “Should I seek a lord other than Allah while He is the Lord of everything? And whatever ˹sin˺ an individual earns is his responsibility. And no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another; then you shall return to your Lord so He will inform you concerning that which you were disputing.[1]

Commentary

[1]

It is not possible that an individual is completely absolved from sin while the burden of his sin is placed upon another person.  Likewise, the sin of one is not transferred to another without reason. However, one who invents a sinful way, or misguides another, or makes a person walk upon the path of sin will be seized for these actions in such a way that the sins of all those people will be added to his record of deeds first; in reality, this is the outcome of his deeds, not an accumulation of sins without reason.
