English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

And if their denial distresses you, then build, if you can, a tunnel through the earth or a stairway to the heavens, and bring forth a sign for them. Had Allah wanted, He would have gathered them upon guidance. So ˹O Listener,˺ you must never be ignorant.[1]

Commentary

[1]

The Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم wanted all to embrace Islam, and if anyone was deprived of faith, it would sadden him. Therefore, it was stated that the course of the universe is driven by divine wisdom, which includes Allah’s Decree of faith for many people. Thus, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was told to maintain his submission before divine will.
