English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

So when they forgot the advice given to them, We opened upon them the doors of all ˹good˺ things until they became elated by that which was given to them, and We seized them suddenly. Thus, now they are in despair.[1]

Commentary

[1]

The attainment of worldly luxuries despite disbelief and sin is in reality respite from Allah Almighty. Usually this respite increases the heedlessness of an individual, leading him to sin more. It is blasphemous for someone to consider sins to be good because he continues to receive blessings despite sinning. Quasi-intellectuals and self-appointed thinkers who grow critical of Islam after witnessing the success of the disbelievers should learn a lesson from this. They complain about the economic challenges of the Muslims and advise them to blindly imitate the disbelievers, without regard for Islamic law.
