English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

Say: “I do not say to you that I have the treasures of Allah, and I do not say I come to know of the unseen[1] independently, and I do not say to you that I am an angel. I am only a follower of the revelation which comes to me.” Say: “Can the blind and sighted be equal? So do you not reflect?”

Commentary

[1]

This verse negates personal, independent knowledge of the unseen for the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم; it does not deny that he was granted knowledge of the unseen. Otherwise, there would be a contradiction in Quranic verses, whereas the Quran is void of any contradiction.
