And thus, We tested some of them through others so that they say, “Are these the people upon whom Allah has bestowed favour among us? Does Allah not know best those who are grateful?”[1]

Commentary

[1]

Many religious figures and rich people should learn a lesson from these verses, because even nowadays the rich are respected, and the poor are looked upon with disdain. The poor are casually subjected to prejudice and abuse while the rich are held on a high pedestal. The rich desire special treatment and provision to the extent that they expect religious people to leave personal activities to fulfil their requests. Some rich people do not find it befitting to sit with the poor. These matters are examples of arrogance and conceit; it is necessary to refrain from such conduct.
