فَلَمَّا جَنَّ عَلَیْهِ الَّیْلُ رَاٰ كَوْكَبًاۚ-قَالَ هٰذَا رَبِّیْۚ-فَلَمَّاۤ اَفَلَ قَالَ لَاۤ اُحِبُّ الْاٰفِلِیْنَ(76)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

Then, when the night spread darkness upon him, he saw a star and said: “Do you consider this to be my Lord?” Then, when it disappeared, he said: “I do not like those that set.”[1]

In the era of Prophet Ibrāhīm عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم, many people worshipped idols, stars, the sun, and the moon. Hence, he refuted their idolatry with great wisdom by expressing how things that change, emerge, and disappear cannot be God.
