فِیْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌۙ-فَزَادَهُمُ اللّٰهُ مَرَضًاۚ-وَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِیْمٌۢ ﳔ بِمَا كَانُوْا یَكْذِبُوْنَ(10)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

There is disease within their hearts,[1]so Allah increased their disease, and there is painful punishment for them as they were lying.

Commentary

[1]

A spiritual disease, i.e., hypocrisy and hatred for the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. Erroneous beliefs destroy spirituality, and one who expresses envious resentment towards the Prophet’s greatness has a disease of the heart.
