اَلْبَقَرَة

Al Baqarah

وَ مَثَلُ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا كَمَثَلِ الَّذِیْ یَنْعِقُ بِمَا لَا یَسْمَعُ اِلَّا دُعَآءً وَّ نِدَآءًؕ-صُمٌّۢ بُكْمٌ عُمْیٌ فَهُمْ لَا یَعْقِلُوْنَ(171)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

And the example of those who disbelieve is like the example of one who calls out to that which only hears calls and cries. ˹These disbelievers are˺ deaf, dumb, and blind, so they do not comprehend.[1]

Commentary

The eyes, ears, and tongue are a means of seeing, hearing, and speaking the truth, respectively—this is their real benefit. Since the disbelievers do not truly benefit from these limbs, they are described as deaf, dumb, and blind.
