اَلشَّیْطٰنُ یَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَ یَاْمُرُكُمْ بِالْفَحْشَآءِۚ-وَ اللّٰهُ یَعِدُكُمْ مَّغْفِرَةً مِّنْهُ وَ فَضْلًاؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِیْمٌ(268)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

Satan makes you fear poverty and commands indecency,[1] and Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and grace; and Allah is Most-Bestowing, All-Knowing.

Commentary

[1]

The devil whispers that if you spend or give charity, you shall become poor or even destitute, so do not spend; this is a dangerous ploy of the devil used against those who spend in the way of Allah Almighty, ironically, the very same people will spend excessively on lawful and unlawful marriage customs and other aspects of life.
