Al Baqarah

HR Background

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

And He taught Ādam the names of all things. Then after He showed them to the Angels, He said ˹to them˺, “Relate to me the names of these objects if you are truthful.”[1]

Commentary

[1]

In this verse, Allah Almighty reveals that knowledge is the reason why Prophet Ādam عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام was granted superiority over the angels; knowledge is even greater than worship performed in solitude.
