Al Imran

HR Background

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

˹O Muslims,˺ you are the best nation[1]which was sent forth for the guidance of people; you command the good and forbid evil; and you believe in Allah. If the People of the Book had embraced faith ˹too˺, it would have been better for them. Some of them are believers, while most of them are disobedient.

Commentary

[1]

In this verse, the nation of Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is declared as the best nation. Some verses refer to the Israelites as the best in all the worlds. However, that was exclusive and relative to their era, whereas the superiority of the Muslims is eternal and absolute.
