English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

The love of desires has been beautified for people; namely women, sons, piles of hoarded gold and silver, branded horses, livestock, and farms. These are the provisions of worldly life. With Allah alone there is a beautiful abode.[1]

Commentary

[1]

There is a valuable lesson for us in this verse; many Muslims are swayed by the love of worldly things. Earning an unlawful income due to children and family, to consider wealth as the real purpose of life: striving day and night to earn more, increasing possessions and assets, beautiful clothing, extravagant houses, and expensive cars seem to be the ambitions of most people. We too must reflect upon our lives in light of this verse.
