لَقَدْ  مَنَّ  اللّٰهُ  عَلَى  الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ  اِذْ  بَعَثَ  فِیْهِمْ  رَسُوْلًا  مِّنْ  اَنْفُسِهِمْ  یَتْلُوْا  عَلَیْهِمْ  اٰیٰتِهٖ  وَ  یُزَكِّیْهِمْ  وَ  یُعَلِّمُهُمُ  الْكِتٰبَ  وَ  الْحِكْمَةَۚ-وَ  اِنْ  كَانُوْا  مِنْ  قَبْلُ  لَفِیْ  ضَلٰلٍ  مُّبِیْنٍ(164)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

Indeed, Allah bestowed a great favour upon the believers when He sent to them a Messenger from among them. He recites the verses of Allah before them, purifies them, and teaches them the Book and Wisdom[1] eventhough, prior to this, they certainly had been in clear misguidance.

Commentary

Minnah refers to a great blessing or favour. The verse means that Allah Almighty did a great favour on the believers that He granted them the greatest of His messengers; as he is a means of every blessing and goodness in this world and in the Hereafter, who taught the manner of worship and living, who gave insight about Allah Almighty, and brought a blessing like the Quran.
