Gourd is a creeper that is grown on ground cover. However, it was the miracle of Prophet Yūnus عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام that this particular gourd plant had branches like a tall tree. He would rest under the shade of its large leaves. Note that the Final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم liked to eat gourd. (Sunan Ibn Mājah:3302)
