Luqman

HR Background

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

Did you not see that Allah has set in motion whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth for you, and He completed His apparent and concealed favours upon you? And some people argue about Allah without knowledge, and without guidance and without an illuminating Book. [1]

Commentary

[1]

This verse was revealed in reproach the disbelievers who, despite being unknowledgeable and ignorant, would dispute with the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم regarding the divine being and attributes of Allah Almighty. In this era, some people feel that it is their right to speak on every political and state issue, they also feel it is easy to discuss matters of religion, Islam, faith, the Hereafter, and Allah Almighty without relevant qualifications, research, and understanding. This is a very dangerous trend. In politics, it is perfectly fine for non-experts to have differing views, but the matter of doctrine and religion is not the same. It is obligatory to adopt the specified belief which has been derived from the Quran and Hadith, and which the majority of the Muslim Ummah has adopted.
