HR Background

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

All praise is for Allah who created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and light; yet, the disbelievers ascribe partners to their Lord.[1]

Commentary

[1]

According to the exegetes, the expression “بِرَبِّھِمْ” (their Lord) is linked to “یَعْدِلُوْنَ”, which has one meaning “to turn away.” In this case, the verse would mean that disbelievers turn away from their Lord. Another meaning is to equate, in which case the verse would mean that the disbelievers ascribe partners to their Lord.
