Al Anam

HR Background

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

And do not curse those whom they call upon in worship other than Allah, as they will blaspheme against Allah in transgression due to ignorance.[1] Thus, We have adorned for every nation their deeds. Then, they shall return to their Lord, and so He will reveal to them all that they were doing.

Commentary

[1]

Four matters are deduced from this verse: 1. If voluntary action of worship creates never-ending discord, it should be left out; 2. A preacher or scholar should not speak in a way which incites stubbornness among the people and ultimately leads to violence and disorder; 3. If one firmly believes that advising a particular person will make matters worse, he should refrain from doing so; 4. Sometimes, an individual abandons his religion due to obstinacy. For example, the disbelievers of Makkah originally believed in Allah Almighty, but in their enmity for the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, they disrespected Allah Almighty.
