Al Anam

HR Background

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

Why should you not eat from that upon which the name of Allah has been pronounced even though He has clearly stated for you that which He has forbidden you[1] except matters you are forced towards. Indeed many misguide unknowingly through their desires.[2] Indeed your Lord is most aware of the transgressors.

Commentary

[1]

This expresses that the principle is that unlawful matters or objects are mentioned in detail, and that which is not declared as unlawful is by default lawful.

[2]

Declaring something such as foodstuffs or items as unlawful through personal opinion is misguidance. Those who state that the animals specified to offer reward to the noble Saints are unlawful should reflect upon this, as these animals are slaughtered with the name of Allah Almighty.
