˹Remember˺ the Day when He shall gather all of them ˹and He will say˺, “O group of jinn! You made many from mankind your followers.” And their friends among the humans will say, “O our Lord! We took benefit from each other and we reached ˹the end of˺ our duration which you appointed for us. Allah will say, “The Fire is your abode, you shall remain therein forever except if Allah wills otherwise.[1] Indeed your Lord is Most-Wise, All-Knowing.”
Commentary
[1]
The disbelievers will never be free from Hell; they shall remain therein
forever. The exception in the verse has two implications, viz; they shall
remain in Hell forever, but between the grave and the
accountability on the Day of Reckoning (until entry into Hell), they will not
actually be in Hell; or this could refer to the moments of transition from one
punishment to another. When the people of Hell will complain due to the
intensity of the Fire, they shall be placed in Zamharīr, an extremely cold part of
Hell. When the people will complain in Zamharīr due to the severity of the
cold, they shall be thrown into the fire of Hell again.
