English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

And the Jews did not honour Allah as He should be honoured when they said: “Allah has not revealed anything to man.” Say: “Who revealed the Book which Mūsā brought?” It was light and guidance for people[1] which you had made into (separate) pieces of parchment; you reveal little and conceal much; and you are taught what you and your forefathers did not know.” Say, “Allah”, then leave them playing in their fallacy.

Commentary

[1]

This verse was revealed after the most senior ribbi of the prophetic era Mālik ibn Sayf said during a discussion with the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم that Allah Almighty has not revealed anything to man.
