ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ نَزَّلَ الْكِتٰبَ بِالْحَقِّؕ-وَ اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اخْتَلَفُوْا فِی الْكِتٰبِ لَفِیْ شِقَاقٍۭ بَعِیْدٍ(176)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

This (punishment) is because Allah sent down the Book with the Truth (but they denied). And indeed, those who dispute matters of the Book (Torah or Quran)[1] are in far-fetched conflict.

Commentary

Here, “the Book” refers to the Qurʾan or the Torah; in the first case, “dispute” would mean not accepting and in the second, not accepting properly, as the Jews would not accept the Qurʾan at all and they claimed to accept the Torah but did not do so fully (properly).
