English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

And no life can die without the permission of Allah; a specified time.[1] And whosoever desires reward of the world, We shall give him thereof; and whosoever desires reward of the Hereafter, We shall grant him thereof. And soon We shall reward those who are grateful.

Commentary

[1]

There is encouragement of Jihad in this verse and reassurance for Muslims against the enemy; no one shall die without the command of Allah Almighty regardless of the ferocity of the battle and the danger of the battlefield. However, when the time of death arrives no plan can save an individual whether he chooses to surround himself with thousands of guards or hides himself within a fort; the time of death is written for every individual, it can neither be advanced nor deferred.
