Commentary

[1]

After the Expedition of Uhud, Abū Sufyān, during his return, regretted not finishing off the Muslims and intended to return to the battlefield. The Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم announced the pursuit of Abū Sufyān after which a group of seventy Companions came forth despite being badly wounded. This verse was revealed about this event. This verse highlights the greatness and fortitude of the Prophetic Companions who despite being severely wounded came forward after the Prophetic command.
