Al Imran

HR Background

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

It is not for any man that Allah grants him the Book, and Wisdom, and Prophethood, then he says to the people, “Become those who worship me instead of Allah”, rather, he will say,[1] “Become people of Allah as you teach the Book and because you read it too.”

Commentary

[1]

Rabbānī means “godly”, “devout scholar”, and “jurist”. This expresses that the fruit of knowledge is that one becomes a devout servant of Allah Almighty; one who does not attain this benefit through knowledge, then his knowledge is useless.
