اٰلِ عِمْرَان

وَ اِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِیْقًا یَّلْوٗنَ اَلْسِنَتَهُمْ بِالْكِتٰبِ لِتَحْسَبُوْهُ مِنَ الْكِتٰبِ وَ مَا هُوَ مِنَ الْكِتٰبِۚ-وَ یَقُوْلُوْنَ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ وَ مَا هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِۚ-وَ یَقُوْلُوْنَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ الْكَذِبَ وَ هُمْ یَعْلَمُوْنَ(78)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

And indeed, from among them, there are some who twist their tongues as they read the Book so that you think it is from the Book, and yet it is not from the Book; and these people say, “This is from Allah”, while it is certainly not from Allah; and these people ascribe lies to Allah knowingly.[1]

Even today, there are people who read verses of monotheism and deny the greatness of the Prophets عَـلَـيْهِمُ السَّلَام and Saints رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـه; they give the impression that this (denial of their greatness) is a Quranic theme even though this is a clear lie. Many are heard talking about punishments related to usury, unveiling, and other such matters while quoting the Quran but in reality, they omit or distort important rulings to convince uninformed listeners that what they say is all from the Quran when it is simply deceit.
