English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

O People of the Book! Indeed, there has come to you Our messenger to clearly relate Our commands to you after[1] the era without Prophets lest you say: “No bearer of glad tidings has come to us, nor a warner.” So there has come to you a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. And Allah has power over everything.

Commentary

[1]

The time-period between the eras of Prophet ʿĪsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم and Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is described as the “fatrah period”, i.e. a time without a prophet. In this period, belief in the Oneness of God (tawhīd) was sufficient for the salvation of people, as was the case for the noble parents of the Final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم who were monotheists.
