Allah's Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In the name of Allah, the Infinitely Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Allah has indeed heard the conversation of the woman who argues with you (O Beloved) concerning her husband, and complains to Allah, and Allah is hearing the conversation of both of you; indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Allah certainly has heard the statement of the woman who is arguing with you about her husband. She complains to Allah, and Allah hears your conversation; surely, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
Those amongst you who address their wives as their mothers (i.e. do Zihaar). They are not (in reality) their mothers; their mothers are only those from whom they are born. And undoubtedly, they utter evil and blatant lie; and Allah is indeed definitely Pardoning, and Most Forgiving.
Those among you who liken their wives to their mothers, they (their wives) are not their mothers. Their mothers are only those who gave birth to them. And indeed they utter an undesirable and completely false word—Allah indeed is Most-Pardoning, Most-Forgiving.
And those amongst you who address their wives as their mothers, then wish to return to that matter upon which they had uttered such an evil word, it is therefore necessary upon them to free a slave (in expiation) before this that they touch one another. This is what you are advised with, and Allah is Aware of your deeds.
˹As for˺ those who liken their wives to their mothers but then wish to retract what they have said, ˹they must˺ emancipate a slave before they touch each other. This is what you are exhorted to do. And Allah is aware of all that you do.
Then the one who does not find a slave, so (he should) fast for two consecutive months before this that they touch one another. And the one who cannot even fast, so (he should) feed sixty Masaakeen (i.e. needy people). This is for the reason that you may have faith in Allah and His Messenger, and these are the limits of Allah, and for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.
But ˹the husband˺ who does not find ˹a slave˺, ˹he must˺ fast for two consecutive months before the couple touch each other. And whoever is incapable ˹of fasting˺, he must feed sixty destitute people (masākīn). This is ˹prescribed so˺ that you ˹demonstrably˺ believe in Allah and His Messenger. These are the boundaries of Allah. ˹As˺ for the disbelievers, there is a painful punishment.
Indeed, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, (they) have been humiliated like those before them were humiliated. And We have indeed sent down clear verses; and for the disbelievers is a disgraceful punishment.
Indeed, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger they will be humiliated just as those who preceded them were humiliated, and indeed We have revealed clear verses. And for the disbelievers, there is a humiliating punishment.
