Allah's Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In the name of Allah, the Infinitely Gracious, the Most Merciful.
By the oath of the sun and its light.
By the sun and its light.
And by the moon, when it follows it (i.e. follows the sun).
And by the moon when it follows it.
And by the day, when it brightens it.
And by the day when it brightens the sun.
And by the night when it hides it (i.e. hides the sun).
And by the night when it conceals the sun.
And by the oath of the sky and by Him Who made it.
And by the sky and its Creator.
And by the oath of the earth and by Him Who spread it.
And by the earth and the One Who spread it.
And by the soul and by Him Who made it proper.
And by the soul and the One Who proportioned it.
And instilled in it (i.e. in the human soul, the understanding of) its sins and its piety.
Then He placed in its heart the understanding of its disobedience and its piety.
Indeed, successful is the one who made it (i.e. his soul) pure.
Indeed, he who purified himself attained prosperity.
And unsuccessful is the one who covered it in sins.
And he who covered it in sin failed.
The (nation of) Thamood denied (their Prophet Saalih) with their rebelliousness.
Thamūd denied due to their rebelliousness.
When the most wretched one amongst them stood up (in disobedience).
When the most unfortunate of them came forth ˹to transgress˺.
And the Messenger of Allah (i.e. the Prophet Saalih) said to them, 'Refrain from the she-camel of Allah and (do not prevent her from) her turn to drink.'
So the Messenger of Allah said to them, “Avoid the she-camel of Allah and her turn to drink.”
Consequently, they belied him and cut the lower veins of the legs of the she-camel, so Allah caused destruction to them because of their sin and flattened their town.
So they rejected him and hamstrung her, so their Lord sent punishment upon them due to their sin and destroyed their settlement.
And He has no fear (at all) going after (them, to take revenge).
And he does not fear that any of them would pursue him.
