Allah's Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In the name of Allah, the Infinitely Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Alif-Laam-Ra. (These are individual letters of the Arabic alphabet; Allah and His Messenger know their exact meanings.) (This Qur'aan) is a Book that We have sent down upon you (O Beloved) that you may bring forth people from darknesses into light; by the command of their Lord, towards the path of the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy.
Alif Lām Rā. This is a Book which We have revealed to you that you may bring the people out of the darkness towards the light, with the command of your Lord, towards the path of the Exalted, the Most Praiseworthy.
(I.e.) Allah; that only to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And woe to the disbelievers on account of a severe punishment.
It is Allah to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And there is destruction for the disbelievers through a severe punishment.
To whom the worldly life is dearer than the Hereafter, and who prevent (people) from the way of Allah and wish deviation in it; they are in far misguidance.
Those who prefer the life of this world over the Hereafter, and prevent from the way of Allah, and desire to make it crooked; they are far astray.
And We sent every Messenger with the very language of his people, that he may explain to them clearly. Then, Allah causes to go astray whomever He wills, and He guides whomsoever He wills; and only He is the Most Honourable, the Wise.
And we did not send any Messenger except with the language of his nation that he may clearly relate to them. So, Allah leaves to stray whomsoever He wills and He guides whomsoever He wills; and He is the Exalted, the Most Wise.
And We indeed sent Moosa along with Our signs; that 'Bring your people from darknesses into light, and remind them of the days of Allah (when various favours were bestowed); indeed, in them (remembering these days) are signs for every greatly patient thankful person.'
And undoubtedly, We sent Mūsā with Our signs, ˹saying,˺ “Take your nation out of darkness towards the light; and remind them of the days of Allah.” In this, there are signs for every exceedingly patient, most grateful individual.
And when Moosa said to his people, 'Remember Allah's favour upon you when He rescued you from the people of Fir'awn who were inflicting you with a dreadful torment, and were slaying your sons and keeping your daughters alive. And in it (i.e. rescuing you) was a great bounty of your Lord.
And when Mūsā said to his nation, “Remember the Favour of Allah upon you when He granted you salvation from the People of Pharaoh, who were afflicting you with severe torture, slaughtering your sons and sparing the lives of your daughters; and in this there was a great trial from your Lord.”
