سَیَقُوْلُ السُّفَهَآءُ مِنَ النَّاسِ مَا وَلّٰىهُمْ عَنْ قِبْلَتِهِمُ الَّتِیْ كَانُوْا عَلَیْهَاؕ-قُلْ لِّلّٰهِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَ الْمَغْرِبُؕ-یَهْدِیْ مَنْ یَّشَآءُ اِلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِیْمٍ(142)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

Now the foolish among the people will say,[1] “Who has turned these Muslims from the Qiblah that they were facing previously?” Say, “To Allah ˹alone˺ belong the East and the West. He guides whomsoever He wills towards the straight path.”

Commentary

[1]

This verse states that those who were critical about making the Holy Kaʿbah the Qiblah (after Bayt al-Maqdis) are foolish. One who does not understand the wisdom of religious injunctions and is unjustifiably critical is foolish, even if he has expertise in matters of this world.
