Alif-Laam-Ra. (These are individual letters of the Arabic alphabet; Allah and His Messenger know their exact meanings.) These are the verses of the Luminous Book.

Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'aan; that you may understand.
We sent it down as an Arabic Quran that you may understand.
We relate to you the best narrative because We have sent the revelation of this Qur'aan to you; although, you were indeed unaware before (Our informing you about) this.
We relate to you the best of accounts through what We revealed to you of this Quran, though before this, you were among the unaware.
Remember when Yusuf said to his father, 'O my father! I saw eleven stars, and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to myself.'
And remember when Yūsuf said to his father, “My father! Indeed I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrate to me.”
He said, 'O my son! Do not reveal your dream to your brothers; that they will devise a plot against you; indeed, Satan is an open enemy of mankind.'
He (Yaʿqūb) said, “My son! Do not relate your dream to your brothers lest they plot against you—certainly, Satan is an open enemy for mankind.
'And this is how your Lord will choose you, and teach you how to interpret (dreams), and will complete His favours upon you and upon the family of Ya'qoob the way He completed it upon both your forefathers; Ibrahim and Is-haaq. Indeed, your Lord is All-Knowing, Ever Wise.'
And thus your Lord will select you, and He will teach you the interpretation of events, and will complete His favour upon you, and upon the Children of Yaʿqūb just as He completed it upon your forefathers previously, (namely) Ibrāhīm and Isḥāq. Indeed your Lord is All-Knowing, Most-Wise.”
Indeed, in (the story of) Yusuf and his brothers are signs for those who enquire.
Undoubtedly in ˹the account of˺ Yūsuf and his brothers, there are signs for those who enquire.
When they said, 'Indeed, Yusuf and his (real) brother are dearer to our father than us, and we are one group; undoubtedly, our father is clearly deeply engrossed in his love.'
And remember when they (the brothers) said, “Certainly Yūsuf and his ˹full˺ brother are more beloved to our father than us while we are a group. Our father is immersed in clear devotion ˹to them˺.
(The brothers decided after consultation) 'Kill Yusuf or throw him somewhere in the land; so that your father's face (i.e. attention) may be directed towards only you, and then thereafter it, you become righteous (by repenting).'
Kill Yūsuf, or banish him to some faraway land, your father will then ˹only˺ focus on you. After that, become righteous people.”
