Allah's Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In the name of Allah, the Infinitely Gracious, the Most Merciful.
O (Beloved) Prophet! (Tell the believers) when you people divorce women, so divorce them (when they are in the state of purity, with one divorce) at (the start of) their prescribed period, and keep (an accurate) calculation of their 'Iddah (i.e. waiting period). And (O Muslims) fear Allah, your Lord, Do not banish them from their (husband's) homes, nor should they leave themselves during the 'Iddah period unless this that they commit any open indecency (i.e. fornication, or theft, etc.). And these are the limits of Allah; and whoever transgresses the limits of Allah, indeed he has done wrong to himself. You do not know, maybe Allah will send a new command afterwards (so that you may take her back if that was the first or second divorce).
Dear Prophet, ˹tell your nation that˺ when you divorce women, divorce them considering their waiting period (ʿiddah), and calculate their waiting period. Fear Allah, your Lord! Do not evict them from their homes nor should they leave, unless they commit a clear act of indecency. These are the boundaries of Allah. Whosoever exceeds the boundaries of Allah has indeed wronged himself. You do not know, perhaps Allah will create a new matter thereafter.
Hence, when they are about to reach their appointed term (nearing completion of 'Iddah), so hold them back with kindness or separate from them with kindness, and make two credible men amongst you as witnesses, and establish testimony for the sake of Allah; whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, he is advised with this; and whosoever fears Allah, Allah will create for him a way of salvation.
So when they near ˹the end of˺ their prescribed duration ˹of the waiting period˺, take them back with courtesy or release them with courtesy, and appoint two just witnesses among you, and establish the testimony for Allah. This is what he who believes in Allah and the Last Day is advised. And whosoever fears Allah, He will create a way out for him.
And (Allah) will provide him sustenance from where he could not (even) imagine; and whoever relies upon Allah, so He is Sufficient for him; indeed, Allah is to complete His task; indeed, Allah has set a proper measure for all things.
And He will grant him sustenance from where he cannot even imagine. And whosoever places his trust in Allah, then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah completes His Decree. Indeed, Allah has specified a measure for everything.
