بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Allah's Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In the name of Allah, the Infinitely Gracious, the Most Merciful.
طٰهٰ(1)
Ta-Ha. (These are individual letters of the Arabic alphabet; Allah and His Messenger know their exact meanings.)
مَاۤ اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَیْكَ الْقُرْاٰنَ لِتَشْقٰۤى(2)
O Beloved, We have not sent down this Qur'aan upon you that you may fall into hardship.
˹Dear Beloved Prophet,˺ We did not reveal this Quran to you that you may be burdened.
اِلَّا تَذْكِرَةً لِّمَنْ یَّخْشٰى(3)
Yes, as advice for he who fears (Allah).
It is but advice for the one who fears ˹his Lord˺.
تَنْزِیْلًا مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ الْاَرْضَ وَ السَّمٰوٰتِ الْعُلٰىﭤ(4)
Sent down by the One Who created the earth and the high heavens.
Revealed from He Who created the earth and the high heavens.
اَلرَّحْمٰنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوٰى(5)
The Most Gracious established His Authority upon the Throne.
The Infinitely Gracious, performed Istiwā over the Divine Throne ˹as befits Him˺.
لَهٗ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِی الْاَرْضِ وَ مَا بَیْنَهُمَا وَ مَا تَحْتَ الثَّرٰى(6)
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and whatever is between them and whatever is beneath this moist soil.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and all that lies between them and whatever is beneath the moist soil.
وَ اِنْ تَجْهَرْ بِالْقَوْلِ فَاِنَّهٗ یَعْلَمُ السِّرَّ وَ اَخْفٰى(7)
And if you speak aloud, He knows the secret and that which is even more hidden.
And if you speak aloud, so indeed He is aware of the secret and that which is more concealed.
اَللّٰهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَؕ-لَهُ الْاَسْمَآءُ الْحُسْنٰى(8)
Allah; that no one is to be worshipped except Him. Only His are all the Good Names.
Allah, there is none worthy of worship but Him; ˹all˺ most beautiful names belong to Him.
وَ هَلْ اَتٰىكَ حَدِیْثُ مُوْسٰىﭥ(9)
And did the news of Moosa come to you?
And did the news of Mūsā come to you?
اِذْ رَاٰ نَارًا فَقَالَ لِاَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوْۤا اِنِّیْۤ اٰنَسْتُ نَارًا لَّعَلِّیْۤ اٰتِیْكُمْ مِّنْهَا بِقَبَسٍ اَوْ اَجِدُ عَلَى النَّارِ هُدًى(10)
When he saw a fire and said to his wife, 'Stop! I have seen a fire, perhaps I may bring you a live coal from it or find a way at the fire.'
When he saw a fire, then he said to his wife, “Wait, indeed I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring to you a firebrand from it or find a guide near the fire.”
فَلَمَّاۤ اَتٰىهَا نُوْدِیَ یٰمُوْسٰىﭤ(11)
Then, when he came near the fire, a call was given, 'O Moosa!'
Then when he came to it, he was called, “O Mūsā!
اِنِّیْۤ اَنَا رَبُّكَ فَاخْلَعْ نَعْلَیْكَۚ-اِنَّكَ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًىﭤ(12)
'Indeed, I am your Lord; therefore, take off your shoes. Indeed, you are in the sacred jungle (i.e. valley) of Tuwa.'
I am your Lord so remove your sandals; indeed you are in the sacred valley of Tuwā.
وَ اَنَا اخْتَرْتُكَ فَاسْتَمِـعْ لِمَا یُوْحٰى(13)
'And I have chosen you; now, listen attentively to what is to be revealed to you.'
And I have chosen you, so listen attentively to that which is revealed.
اِنَّنِیْۤ اَنَا اللّٰهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّاۤ اَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِیْۙ-وَ اَقِمِ الصَّلٰوةَ لِذِكْرِیْ(14)
'Indeed, only I am Allah; that there is no one worthy of worship except Me; hence, worship Me and establish Salah for My remembrance.'
I am Allah, there is no god but Me so worship Me, and establish the prayer for My remembrance.
